Suvo, a young pianist from New York emailed me to ask for help with his album. He started writing songs at home in a particular style and I loved his trancy triphop approach. We collaborated long distance for half a year and then he visited my studio to record. It was a beautiful time and we gave him the nick name “The Pedal King”. He uses the sustain pedal in a very special way that creates that floaty thick piano sound that we captured.

Suvo about working together:
Working with Gijs on my debut EP was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. We began working remotely, and he helped shape my music with clarity and care, bringing strong structural ideas to the songs. I learned a great deal during the recording sessions and couldn’t wait to return for the next one.
Gijs mixed the tracks and helped define the narrative of the EP through its track order, which felt like a perfect choice. If you’re looking for someone who will guide you through the entire process and bring out your best work, he’s your man!
