We long wanted to go beyond the piano and introduce synthesizers, choir and orchestra in Joeps music because we both come from a more electronic music background. It only happened ever so slightly in Impermanence on Prehension. In the closing chapter of of the trilogy that started with Solipsism and Prehension Joep wanted to go deeper.
The demos for Henosis were finished in 2017 and it took the most of 2018 to transcribe, record and mix all tracks.
It was a great project with great people. Recording and mixing more than 500 tracks into 2. Some real technical challenges like recording in 432, 440 and 442 Hz. And we delivered the whole album in the natural frequency of 432 Hz. Creating a sonic journey of almost 2 hours of sonic shapes and Joeps stories, blending the acoustics with the electronics, classical and the present moment.
